Rode the first seven miles of this yesterday and it was fun. Admittedly, my bike tires are 700x32cm, and a road bike to boot! The loose gravel was tough, but doable. A purpose-built gravel/cross bike would do well on this route.

Rode this today and enjoyed it a great deal. The hills were manageable and none of the roads were very busy. One asphalt section for a mile or so but plenty of room on the shoulder.
